GANT

GANT is an American-Swedish clothing brand that is inextricably linked with preppy style. Founded in 1949 by Bernard Gantmacher in New Haven, Connecticut, GANT is now headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

In early 2020, GANT's Creative Director Christopher Bastin invited Luke to create a capsule collection of clothing for men and women. Luke flew to Stockholm and spent a fruitful day rooting through the label’s extensive archive, exploring the vintage pieces and collectables stored there. The resulting collection was launched in several European countries in November 2020.

'The collection I have created with Gant takes its inspiration from my home in the English countryside, and how I spend weekends here with friends. Minus wellies, I kept the idea of a varied country wardrobe in mind: heavy tweed coats for stalking through fields, oversized jumpers, 1970s-inspired velvet suits and shimmering silk shirts for candlelit winter dinners.'

'I was inspired by pieces discovered in GANT's archive, but I looked too to my own wardrobe of vintage knitwear and tailoring. The look is very English, practical and elegant. Bold colour combinations and playful touches abound: we made felt patches for attaching to lapels, and shirts are printed or embroidered with sketches of my home and the surrounding countryside.'
